About CEHAT:

Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT) is the research centre of Anusandhan Trust and is committed to advancing health and human rights. Our work spans research, service delivery, training, and advocacy on issues related to health systems, gender-based violence (GBV), ethics in healthcare, and access to healthcare for vulnerable groups. CEHAT is known for generating policy-relevant knowledge and for sustained engagement with health systems.

Position Overview:

CEHAT seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) professional to lead and strengthen MEL efforts across its diverse research and intervention projects. The MEL Expert will be responsible for designing and implementing robust frameworks, developing meaningful indicators, and embedding learning processes into the organization’s work. The role is strategic and collaborative and will involve working closely with project leads and teams across thematic areas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop MEL Frameworks: Review existing frameworks across CEHAT’s projects ensuring alignment with project goals, donor requirements, and organizational vision.
  • Indicator Development: Define relevant quantitative and qualitative indicators for outputs, outcomes, and impact across projects.
  • System Strengthening: Design and institutionalize systems and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Capacity Building: Build MEL capacities of project teams through training and ongoing support.
  • Learning & Adaptation: Facilitate periodic reviews, learning sessions, and the use of MEL findings to inform strategic decisions and course corrections.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Oversee or support high-quality MEL documentation for internal learning, donor reporting, and external dissemination.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with research, advocacy, and implementation teams to integrate MEL meaningfully across interventions.

 Desired Profile:

  • Master’s in Medicine, Social Work, Public Health, Public Health Administration, Social Science or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in MEL roles, preferably in the social sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing MEL systems for research and/or programmatic interventions.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods, data management, and use of relevant digital tools/platforms.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings in a clear and actionable way.
  • Strong facilitation, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Exposure to or interest in issues related to gender-based violence, public health systems, or rights-based approaches to health.

 

Remuneration: Will be commensurate with qualifications and experience between Rs. 72,000/- to Rs. 97,000/-.

The role involves working closely with counsellors and healthcare providers, conducting trainings, and ensuring quality psychosocial support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Location: Mumbai

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day implementation of Dilaasa activities in public hospitals.
  • Provide regular support and feedback to counsellors handling cases of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Conduct/co-facilitate trainings for healthcare providers – including doctors, nurses, and medical officers – on gender-sensitive response to violence.
  • Analyze case data, generate reports, and use findings for programme improvement.
  • Liaise with hospital teams to ensure coordinated service delivery.

 Eligibility and Skills:

  • Master’s in Social Work, Public Health, Public Health Administration, Social Science or related fields.
  • 2–4 years of experience in gender-based violence, women’s rights, or health systems.
  • Strong feminist understanding of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Experience working directly with survivors or within public health settings is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English and Marathi.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

 

Remuneration: Will be commensurate with qualifications and experience between Rs. 60,000/- to Rs. 73,000/-
