CEHAT, in collaboration with UN WOMEN India, organized a State Consultation on SMART Cities as Safe Cities from Safe Tourism Lens on 31st July 2024 at Dona Paula, Goa. Forty one representatives from different departments of the Government of Goa and civil society organizations participated in the consultation. Experts from within Goa and across various states from the country contributed to panels focused on best practices for creating safer cities and tourist destinations for women. Participants at the meeting emphasized the need to center regional voices in consultative processes for ethical and responsible tourism development. They provided inputs for future action plans to make Goa an inclusive and safe space for women.
