CEHAT provides technical support to Dilaasa centres, which are hospital based crisis centres, functioning in 12 hospitals of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Dilaasa centres provide services to more than 2500 survivors of domestic and sexual violence every year. CEHAT focuses on strengthening health sector response to VAW/C by enhancing service delivery of Dilaasa and health care providers. In a technical support role, CEHAT carries out regular orientation training with new HCPs, refresher and incremental training of Dilaasa staff and HCPs, conducts quarterly monitoring committee meetings to assess facility response violence as per SoP, presents MoHFW rape proforma analysis to HCPs to assist in effectively documenting reported cases, and makes IEC material to increase visibility of VAW/C in hospitals. Under this project, CEHAT is also assisting several Indian states in establishing a health sector response to violence against women by working with civil society organisations and departments of the government.
