Dilaasa was set up in the year 2001 at the K. B. Bhabha Hospital, Bandra as a collaboration between Municipal Corporation Greater Mumbai (MCGM) and Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT). Dilaasa, which is a hospital based crisis centre, was set up in order to provide the much needed psychosocial support to women reporting domestic violence at Municipal hospitals.
