A National Consultation on safe abortion and sex selection was organised in Mumbai to arrive at better conceptual clarity. Several issues were discussed were- women�s access to abortion services, decline in sex ratio as a phenomenon, implementation of the MTP and PCPNDT acts in two states- Maharashtra and Rajasthan, Sex selection/determination and sex selective abortions.
